Question 1

Is SourceSplash really free?

Accepted Answer

Yes! Anonymous hotlinks are free to use, and a free API key adds usage analytics plus higher limits (1,000 requests per hour). No credit card required.

Question 2

Do I need to attribute the images?

Accepted Answer

No attribution is required. All images are sourced from providers like Pexels, Pixabay, and Unsplash that offer free-to-use images.

Question 3

How do I use the API?

Accepted Answer

Simply use the URL https://www.sourcesplash.com/i/random in your HTML img tags or as a background image. Add ?q=nature for specific topics or ?w=800&h=600 for custom dimensions.

Question 4

What's the difference between free and paid plans?

Accepted Answer

The free tier gives unlimited anonymous hotlinks and 1,000 requests per hour with a free API key. The Pro tier ($9/month) adds 20,000 requests/hour, stable images (no rotation), custom default sizes and collections, referer-locked keys, and hotlink analytics.
